This is the shirt I designed for the Students Students Today Alumni Tomorrow student organization for football season.
Each year, UF Advancement designs five BEAT t-shirts to support the Gators football team through the STAT organization, which hands out the shirts to its members. Students line up, sometimes for several blocks, starting before the sun rises to be one of the members to get a shirt.
I was tasked with creating three shirts designs for the students to choose from for the game against the University of South Carolina, whose mascots are the Gamecocks.
We were able to get a lot of feedback from the survey we sent to the members of STAT about what they wanted in each design. One of the most common responses were that the students liked the designs from the BEAT shirts made in the 1980's or earlier, so I spent a lot of time looking through a lot of old versions of BEAT shirts. After making these three drafts, the students chose the one on the right to revise into the final version. It was very fun to pass by our build the morning they were being handed out and see so many students wearing my design.
