Steampunk Glass Pocket Watch

This is one of the fused glass pieces I made while visiting ArtNETT Studios in college.

This was one of the first fused glass pieces I made in my grandmother's studio. After several practice rounds using scrap pieces of glass to test the temperature of the kiln and the effect it has on glass, I decided to be more purposeful with my designs.

I've always had an inclination toward objects that fall into the realm of "steampunk." I love pocket watches and have several that are very dear to me. I liked the idea of using the vitri-fusaille technique of painting on glass to create an industrial-style watch with abstracted roman numerals breaking out of time.
