This is one of the fused glass pieces I made while visiting ArtNETT Studios in college.
This was one of the first fused glass pieces I made in my grandmother's studio. After several practice rounds using scrap pieces of glass to test the temperature of the kiln and the effect it has on glass, I decided to be more purposeful with my designs.
I made this hummingbird with a window art kit as a kid, and despite the fact that it was made of very cheap, fragile materials, my grandmother kept it for almost twenty years and across three houses. I decided to make her a version of it that was a little less fragile, so she wouldn't have to worry so much if it couldn't move with her again.
