This is the section of the Florida Gator that I designed for Advancement's alumni magazine.
Each quarter, UF Advancement prints and ships its magazine, known as the Florida Gator, to its alumni subscribers. For the past few editions, I have been responsible for designing the Gator Nation section, where the magazine focuses on news about the alumni who stay in touch with the University of Florida. I work closely with the other designers, as well as the writing team, to make sure the magazine feels cohesive and that each story feels well-told.
These are a few images from the magazine that I digitally edited. For the story about Nantucket, I wanted the pictures to appear hand-drawn and aged to go along with the historical theme. I wanted the images I edited of the new alumni board members to be fun and almost cartoon-ish, since we photographed them each doing funny poses in front of a green screen.
Here are a few of the draft versions of my favorite pages to work on. I really enjoyed drawing the 2D animation walking cycle for the Underwear Run character so I could have him jog across the pages. It was a very fun story to work with, and a lot of the writers stopped by to tell me they admired my idea.
