This is the face mask I designed for the UF Genetics Institute building during the Covid 19 pandemic.
I became the graphic designer for the UF Genetics Institute only a few weeks before the Covid 19 pandemic. When everyone returned to work from being remote, I was asked to design a collection of graphics, including visitor passes, masks, and building signs notating best practices and procedures for keeping everyone healthy and safe.
I decided to design a variation of the UFGI logo that would better lend itself to a mask. I tested several different color variations as well, and my coworkers chose blue as the background color.
After presenting eight different options, my coworkers chose my favorite of the new logo variations, with the UF Genetics Institute written in the center of the double helix. About 500 masks were printed for the students, faculty, and staff to wear.
