This was one of my first drawing projects in college.
For this project, we were asked to make a drawing of anything we wanted, but we had to use the frottage technique to do so by placing our paper over a textured surface and using the texture to enhance the drawing.
I used several wide, flat pieces of charcoal to capture the texture on brick walls, bumpy flooring, and other random surfaces around the fine art buildings. After placing textures in big areas on most of the paper, I drew outlines of shapes I saw and developed more detail from there.
