This is one of many realism paintings I made in college.
This was the first painting project in my observational painting class. Our instructor set up the scene, and we were allowed to choose our own composition. I spent more than 40 hours on this painting, and it was the first time I really tried to paint and see in so much detail. The final painting was very rewarding, but I'll probably never paint cardboard boxes again.
These progress pictures show to progression from my first sketches and small test paintings, to the finished canvas. The first picture is a photograph of where my easel was placed.
