This is one of many ceramic pieces I completed in my high school pottery class.
We were tasked with replicating an object that was at least 18 inches long in one direction. Our piece was supposed to be as realistic as possible.
I chose to recreate a Casio keyboard that I'd owned since I was maybe three or four years old. I used various slab construction techniques to craft the base and painted on the details with acrylic paint. I still have the original Casio keyboard, which somehow still works, but I gave the ceramic replica to my high school choir director, who inspired me to learn to play piano.
