The Burrow House Lamp

This is one of many ceramic pieces I completed in my high school pottery class.

The only requirement we were given for this project was that our ceramic piece had to include a functioning light on the inside. We could make a standard lamp, or any other object, as long as the dimensions were met.

I decided to create my version of The Burrow from Harry Potter, the house that the Weasley family lives in. It is described as being very precarious in its construction, an effect that I thought would be fun and challenging to produce. It took a lot of planning and slab construction to position three small houses on top of the main house, and I was very pleased when the final piece came out of the kiln intact. I especially enjoyed painting all of the textures and details on the house.
