DNA Day Logo Design

This is the new logo I designed for the UFGI for its annual DNA Day event.

One of the events that the UF Genetics Institute participated in each year is known as DNA Day. DNA Day is a nationwide event where faculty and students in masters and PhD programs visit high schools in participating counties to teach interactive workshops about the study of DNA. Several of the Genetics and Genomics PhD students volunteered as Ambassadors to travel to the local schools and teach students about DNA through practical activities. My first big project at the UFGI was to create graphics for this event, and I decided to start by updating the logo and color palette.

This was the previous DNA day logo design, which the Institute had been using for several years.

I wanted to make a logo that felt more modern, as well as refresh the color palette. It was one of the first logo projects I ever did as a designer.
